In The News: Man Indicted For Threatening Black Celebrities, Barack Obama’s Kenyan Cousin Now Prime Minister, Alicia Keys Believes Some Conspiracy Theories and more

An Ohio Man David Tuason, 46, has been indicted for targeted black men known to affiliate with white women, well-known white women who had relationships with black men, and children of mixed-race parents, federal authorities said. Black Media Conglomerate Radio One is growing by leaps and bounds. It’s lastest purchase: Community Connect the parent company of popular black website Black Planet. Community Connects has been a leader in the social networking field and also owns other sites targeting minority markets such as Migente.com a social networking site for latinos and AsianAve.com a social networking site for Asians. All three sites are included in the deal estimated to be worth 38 Millions dollars. This move puts Black Planet back in to the hands of an African American company. It looks like an end to the violence in Kenya may end. Kenyan President President Mwai Kibaki named opposition leader and Barack Obama’s distant cousin Raila Odinga as prime minister Sunday, implementing a long-awaited power-sharing deal aimed at resolving a political crisis that left more than 1,000 people dead. The deal marks the first time Kenya will have both a president and prime minister. Hopefully both men will work together to bring peace to a country tormented by violence in the last couple of months.

Singer Alicia Keys is becoming a target of mainstream media attacks now that statements she made during an interview in Blender Magazine has surfaced. Some of the consipracy theories she allegedly shared with Blender Magazine:

‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. `Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist’

It has also been alleged that she stated she’s read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead. I don’t know how true these accusations are but it looks like some in the media are trying to disparage her name almost like they did with the Janet Jackson Superbowl incident.
