Must read: Michael Moore Endorses Obama

michael-moore-peoples-choice-awards.jpgYou know, I knew I liked Michael Moore for a reason.

At first I thought I liked him because of his brilliant Oscar winning documentary “Fahrenheit 911″ or because of the work he did in his films “Bowling For Columbine” or “Sicko”. But now I know why I like him so much…HE GETS IT!

Michael Moore just recently endorsed Barack Obama for president. In his personal blog he list his reasons why he’s decided to endorse. In his blog he says,

Over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I’ve watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name “Farrakhan” out of nowhere, well that’s when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the “F” word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan. But, according to Senator Clinton, Obama’s pastor does — AND the “church bulletin” once included a Los Angeles Times op-ed from some guy with Hamas! No, not the church bulletin!

Then he also said this,

I’ve watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name “Farrakhan” out of nowhere, well that’s when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the “F” word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan. But, according to Senator Clinton, Obama’s pastor does — AND the “church bulletin” once included a Los Angeles Times op-ed from some guy with Hamas! No, not the church bulletin!

I could go on and on with the quotes but I encourage you to read it for yourself. Here’s a link his blog post:

It’s nice to see someone make an informed decision based on their own thoughts instead of the media making it for them. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Moore because he says what he means and he always makes sense. He’s exhibited a lot of courage over the years with his films and I am glad to see him take that same step on the web.

He’s a good man pure and simple.

Mr. Moore has also produced an intriguing documentary entitled, “The Awful Truth” and in it he gives black men tips on how to prevent police brutality. It’s a funny piece but sadly it’s so true. In the days since the Sean Bell verdict I think it’s important for us to think about the things that will keep us safe. Take a look at it for yourself:

Mr. Moore will be on Larry King tonight @ 9 PM ET imparting more of his infinite wisdom.

What do you think about what he said in his endorsement of Obama and what do you think of that video clip of The Awful Truth?

Until next time,
Janis
